Second Snowfall Covers the Summit of Vail Mountain

VAIL, Colo. – Sept. 26, 2012 – A white blanket of snow covered the top ofVail Mountain early this morning as the ski resortreceived its second snowfall of the season.
The early snowfall is a reminder that Vail’s 50th anniversary ski and snowboard season is just around the corner, and the celebration will kick-off in a big way on opening day, Friday, Nov. 16, with the debut of a new, state-of-the-art gondola in Vail Village. In addition to the new gondola, Vail will host a series of events including the special 50th anniversary edition of the signature, early season celebration, Vail Snow Daze, Dec. 10-16 featuring a stellar lineup of bands, including headline act Wilco, the Grammy Award-winning Chicago-based alternative rock band, along with The Shins and Michael Franti & Spearhead.
