NEW! CarniVail – Feb. 6-9, 2016          
Bourbon Street meets Bridge Street in Vail with the revival of CarniVail, a tribute to traditional Mardi Gras events with a Rocky Mountain twist. The New Orleans-style fun includes a Fat Tuesday parade, an on-mountain crawfish boil at Eagle’s Nest, Cajun-themed après and after-dark parties, and much more.
 
The Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships – Feb. 29 – March 5, 2016
The Burton US Open, which first took place in 1982, is the longest-running snowboarding competition in the world and draws the best riders to compete for a coveted US Open title. Catch Olympic-level slopestyle and halfpipe snowboarding competitions in Golden Peak by day, and enjoy free live concerts from headliner acts and more by night. Taste of Vail – March 30 – April 2, 2016
The Taste of Vail is the nation's premier spring food and wine festival, held at several venues throughout North America's favorite ski resort. During the annual three-day event, upwards of 5,000 people are able to "taste the Vail Valley lifestyle" which showcases Vail's world-famous resort village set against dramatic mountain vistas. Participants at the Taste of Vail experience the Vail Valley's world-class restaurants, fine wine poured by winemakers and winery owners from top wineries around the globe, along with interactive seminars, auction and dance, the Colorado Lamb Cook Off, après ski tasting and the popular mountaintop picnic sensory extravaganza at the top of Vail Mountain. www.tasteofvail.com
 
Pink Vail – April 2, 2016
Vail Mountain will become a sea of pink when everyday skiers and snowboarders gather in Vail for the return of a one-day event to raise awareness and funds to support cancer fighters. Pink Vail is the world’s largest ski day to conquer cancer and has proven to be one of the most fun and colorful ski days of the year including live music, a celebration ski down, pink costumes and more. The 2015 event hosted more than 2,400 participants and raised more than $700,000. Registration for Pink Vail 2016 will open in January on www.pinkvail.com. There are no age limits or ability requirements to register. The minimum pledge amount needed to register for the event is $25 and a Vail Mountain ski pass or lift ticket is required for mountain access. Lodging specials will be available for those traveling from out of town or just looking for a fun and worthwhile escape in Vail. Vail has committed to four more years of Pink Vail with events also scheduled for March 25, 2017 and April 7, 2018.
 
Vail Film Festival – April 7-10
Presented by the Colorado Film Institute, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to fostering independent cinema, the Vail Film Festival strives to encourage artistic innovation and promote new and creative film making. Spring Back to Vail – April 8-10
Closeout the winter season with a free live concert, DJ music and the annual World Pond Skimming Championships, a spectacle entailing floatable (and sometimes sinkable) athletes launching themselves off an on-snow jump onto an icy pond in attempt to successfully exit the pond on both feet. www.vail.com/springback
