Both Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts are 100% Open after Receiving Several Feet of Snow since the New Year

20 January 2014
Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts have been measuring snowfall by the foot since the New Year, allowing both mountains to open 100% of their terrain for skiers and snowboarders over the weekend.
At Vail, more than six feet of snow has fallen since Jan. 1 and guests have access to all 5,289 acres of skiable terrain at the resort. This includes the entire front side of the mountain featuring three terrain parks and the 22’ superpipe, plus all seven of Vail’s legendary Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. Corduroy seekers can find fresh groomed terrain on some of Vail’s signature black diamond runs on a weekly basis, with Riva Ridge groomed on Monday and Friday, Blue Ox on Tuesday and Saturday, Gandy Dancer on Wednesday, and The Slot on Thursday and Sunday.
Beaver Creek has received more than three feet of snow since Jan. 1, with all 1,832 acres of the resort’s terrain open this weekend for skiers and snowboarders. Beaver Creek Ski Patrol opened the remaining terrain in Stone Creek Chutes, as well as their signature Golden Eagle trail, groomed each Saturday. Guests can expect the double black diamond run, Golden Eagle, and the black diamond runs, Double Diamond and Helmut’s, to be groomed every Saturday morning for elevated corduroy skiing.
